Admission to Regular/Sponsored / Part-Time M.Tech/MSc programme 2021-22 without scholarship

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to Regular, Sponsored and Part-time seats in M Tech/MSc. (without scholarship) (2021-22).

 NOTE: The number of vacant seats for all the discipline will be announced after the Admission through central counselling for MTech (CCMT-2021) and MSc (CCMN-2021) are over (tentatively by 21 August 2021).  

 1. INSTRUCTION:  

Candidates are advised to fill the application form and submit with all the relevant documents through e-mail.

Relevant Documents 

1. Latest colour passport photograph.

2. Photo ID proof as per Govt. of India norms.

3. Certificate of Date of Birth issued by competent authority or Class X (High School Board) Certificate as proof of date of birth.

4. Mark Sheet of Class XII.

5. Grade/Mark Sheets of qualifying degree examination for all semesters.

6. Degree / Provisional certificate of qualifying degree.

7. Certificate of Social Category (OBC/SC/ST), if applicable, as per Government of India, issued by the competent authority. In case of OBC category, the OBC-NCL certificate must be issued on or after April 1, 2021

8. NOC (for Part Time candidates) & Migration Certificate

9. Experience Certificate (if any)

 #NOC & Migration Certificate are to be submitted before 20^th September 2021. 

 2. CONTACT DETAILS 

Dates for written test/ interview will be intimidated by 01 September 2021 based on CCMT/CCMN seat updates. 

Only the shortlisted students have to deposit the application fees through Demand Draft/online mode, the amounts and details of which will be intimated by 01 September 2021. 

4. ELIGIBILITY 

M. TECH./MSC PROGRAMMES: In qualifying degree, the candidates should have passed and secured at least 6.5 CGPA/CPI (on a 10- point scale) or 60% for GEN/OBC, whereas 6.0 CGPA/CPI (on a 10-point scale) or 55% in case of SC/ST/PwD candidates. The above-mentioned CGPA/CPI/Percentage should be awarded by a recognized University/Institute.

If the results of the last qualifying examination are not published yet, the qualifying marks are applicable until the last semester. However such candidates have to submit their final semester results before admission, else their selection if any will be cancelled.

The reservation will be as per the vacancy available after the centralized counselling (CCMT-2021 and CCMN-2021).

5. CATEGORY: 

 The Institute admits M. Tech/MSc students under the following categories:

 (i) REGULAR (FULL -TIME) 

These are students who work full-time for their M. Tech. /M. Sc. degrees and self-sponsored. 

 (ii) SPONSORED (FULL-TIME) 

A candidate in this category is sponsored by a recognised R&D organisation, academic institution, governmental organisation or industry for doing M. Tech /M. Sc. in the Institute on a full-time basis.  The applicant must be a regular employee of his/her organisation with at least two years of experience at the time of admission and be engaged in professional work in the discipline in which admission is sought. Sponsorship/NOC (FORM I) letter must be attached with the application.

(iii) PART-TIME

This category refers to candidates who are professionally employed personnel (including the staff of NIT Manipur), who can attend classes at the Institute while employed.  These candidates should be able to attend regular classes as per the schedule of the Institute. The applicant must be a regular employee of a recognized organisation with at least two years of experience at the time of admission and be engaged in professional work in the discipline in which admission is sought. For NIT Manipur staff these rules are exempted but to be admitted as part-time candidate. A No Objection Certificate from the Head of the Institution/ Organisation in which he/she is employed (Form II) must be enclosed at the time of application.

Please note that, if called for Written Test/Interview, the candidate will have to produce the Originals as well as attested copies of all the documents relating to educational qualifications (from Class X onwards). This is also applicable for the result awaited candidates, except that along with other required documents they will produce Original as well as attested copies of all Mark Sheets up to the previous semester/year of the Qualifying Degree.

 6. ADMISSION PROCEDURE FOR M.TECH/MSc PROGRAMMES (WITHOUT SCHOLARSHIP) 

Mere eligibility will not ensure a call for admission test and/or viva voce. Depending on the number of applications received and the eligibility, a shortlist shall be prepared for a call for admission test.

 (i) The weightage will be totally based on written test examination/ examination & interview. In case of candidates scoring same marks, the Percentage of Marks / CGPA /CPI obtained in the last qualifying examination will be considered. 

 7. HOSTEL 

 Hostel accommodation may be allotted for the full-time students subject to availability. However, there is an acute shortage of hostel accommodation now.

 8.  CANCELLATION OF ADMISSION 

Refund of fee due to the cancellation of admission will be made as per the rules of the Institute subject to submission of application with all relevant documents.
