Admission to Regular/Sponsored / Part-Time M.Tech programme 2019-20 without scholarship

APPLICATION:

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to Regular, Sponsored and Part-time seats in M Tech (without scholarship) (2019-20).

NOTE: The number of vacant seats for all the discipline will be announced after the central counseling for MTech (CCMT-2010) results are declared completely by 29^th July 2019.

1. INSTRUCTION:

Candidates are advised to fill the application form and submit with all the relevant documents by POST.

Relevant Documents

1. Latest colour passport photograph.
2. Photo ID proof as per Govt. of India norms.
3. Certificate of Date of Birth issued by competent authority or Class X (High School Board) Certificate as proof of date of birth.
4. Mark Sheet of Class XII.
5. Grade/Mark Sheets of qualifying degree examination for all semesters.
6. Degree / Provisional certificate of qualifying degree.
7. Certificate of Social Category (OBC/SC/ST), if applicable, as per Government of India, issued by the competent authority. In case of OBC category, the certificate must be issued on or after April 1, 2019

1. NOC (for Part Time candidates) & Migration Certificate
2. Experience Certificate (if any)

#NOC & Migration Certificate can be submitted before 17 September 2019.

2. CONTACT DETAILS

Dates for written test/ interview will be intimidated by 30^thJuly based on CCMT seat updates.

No postal order delays will be entertained after the last date.

Only the shortlisted students have to deposit the application fees through Demand Draft, the amounts and details of which will be intimated by 30^th July 2019.

No accommodation shall be provided during the admission test. The candidates may provisionally book journey tickets for written test & interview and admission in advance to avoid its non-availability after the publication of the lists.

4. ELIGIBILITY

M. TECH. PROGRAMMES: At least 60% marks (6.5 CGPA) in (last qualifying degree examination); relaxation of 5% marks / 0.5 CGPA is applicable for SC/ST candidates. If the results of the last qualifying examination are not published yet, the qualifying marks are applicable till the last semester. However such candidates have to submit their final semester results before admission, else their selection if any, will not be considered.

The reservation will be as per the vacancy available after the centralized counseling (CCMT-2019).

5. CATEGORY:

The Institute admits MTech students under the following categories:

(i)     REGULAR (FULL -TIME)

These are students who work full-time for their MTech degrees and self sponsored. 

(ii)   SPONSORED (FULL-TIME)

A candidate in this category is sponsored by a recognised R&D organisation, academic institution, governmental organisation or industry for doing MTech in the Institute on a full-time basis.  The applicant must be a regular employee of his/her organisation with at least two years of experience at the time of admission and be engaged in professional work in the discipline in which admission is sought. Sponsorship/NOC (FORM I) letter  must be attached with the application.

(iii) PART-TIME

This category refers to candidates who are professionally employed personnel (including the staff of NIT Manipur), who can attend classes at the Institute while employed.  These candidates should be able to attend regular classes as per the schedule of the Institute. The applicant must be a regular employee of a recognized organisation with at least two years of experience at the time of admission and be engaged in professional work in the discipline in which admission is sought. For NIT Manipur staff these rules are exempted but to be admitted as part-time candidate. A No Objection Certificate from the Head of the Institution/ Organisation in which he/she is employed (Form II) must be enclosed at the time of application.

Please note that, if called for Written Test/Interview, the candidate will have to produce the Originals as well as Attested copies of all the documents relating to educational qualifications (from Class X onwards). This is also applicable for the result awaited candidates, except that along with other required documents they will produce Original as well as attested copies of all Mark Sheets up to the previous semester/year of the Qualifying Degree.

6. ADMISSION PROCEDURE FOR M.TECH PROGRAMMES (WITHOUT SCHOLARSHIP)

Mere eligibility will not ensure a call for admission test and/or viva voce. Depending on the number of applications received and the eligibility, a shortlist shall be prepared for a call for admission test.

(i)     The weightage will be totally based on written test examination/ examination & interview. In case of candidates scoring same marks, the Percentage of Marks / CGPA obtained in the last qualifying examination will be considered. 

7. HOSTEL

Hostel accommodation may be allotted for the full-time students subject to availability. However, there is an acute shortage of hostel accommodation now.

8.  CANCELLATION OF ADMISSION

Refund of fee due to the cancellation of admission will be made as per the rules of MHRD, Government of India and the Institute subject to submission of application with all relevant documents.

9. FEES TO BE CHARGED DURING ADMISSION 

* According to MHRD Norms, the tuition fees will be collected from SC/ST candidates receiving their Scholarship from other source.
