Dr. M. Dinachandra is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, National Institute of Technology Manipur. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from BMS College of Engineering, Bengaluru. Subsequently, he secured an AIR-157 in GATE 2012 (ME Stream) and joined for Ph.D. programme at IIT Madras in 2012 in the area of computational mechanics. Afterwards, he received Institute Post-Doctoral fellowship from IIT Bombay in 2018 wherein he worked on Adaptive FEM for phase field problems and high performance scientific computing. Later, he joined IIT Delhi in  2021 as a Principal Project Scientist wherein he gained experience in the field of biomechanics. Later, he moved to industry in Dassault Systemes in 2022. During his industrial experience, he has provided  technical assistance to world-wide customers for SIMULIA products such as Abaqus/CAE, Abaqus/Standard Abaqus/Explicit, Fe-Safe, and the 3DExperience platform. The areas are mainly in solver-related areas and hence spans several domains. Some of the specific domains are Tire Industry, Additive Manufacturing, Design Optimization in Abaqus etc.

Research interests:

FEM, Scientific Computing, Phase-Field Modeling, Inverse problems, Computational Solid Mechanics, Machine & Deep Learning in Mechanics etc.
