The Department of Physics, established in the year 2010, has, since its inception, been steadfastly committed to the pursuit of academic excellence and the advancement of scientific knowledge through both teaching and research endeavors. Our vision is to emerge as a preeminent center of learning and discovery in the realm of physical sciences, distinguished by our contributions to cutting-edge research and innovative pedagogy.

Although the department is relatively nascent, it boasts well-equipped laboratories that cater to both experimental and computational research. These facilities are continuously enhanced and modernized, with the explicit aim of aligning with international standards and enabling our researchers to engage in globally competitive scientific investigations. At present, experimental research within the department concentrates primarily on condensed matter physics, while our theoretical and computational research encompasses a broad and dynamic spectrum of soft-matter physics.

We actively cultivate collaborations with institutions at the local, national, and international levels, thereby fostering a vibrant and interconnected scientific community. The faculty members of our department are prolific contributors to the global scientific discourse, publishing their findings in highly reputed peer-reviewed journals. Their scholarly achievements have been recognized through numerous prestigious research grants awarded by organizations such as the Department of Science and Technology (DST), the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), among others. Furthermore, the DST-INSPIRE Faculty Award conferred upon our faculty members stands as a testament to the department's potential for excellence in research.

The academic staff of the Department of Physics comprises a dedicated team of Five faculty members and two non-teaching personnel, who collectively ensure the smooth functioning of both our academic and research programs. At present, the department offers a robust suite of educational programs, including the Master of Science (M.Sc.), the Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.), and an active and vibrant Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program, which serves as a cornerstone of our research enterprise.

Through our unwavering commitment to academic rigor, innovative research, and inclusive collaboration, we strive to make meaningful contributions to the global scientific community and to nurture the next generation of physicists.
