The PhD programme of the department is an area of vibrant research pursuit. The Department offers Ph.D in English in the areas of Postcolonial Literature, Commonwealth Literature etc.

Candidates looking for admission to the PhD programme in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences must satisfy the following criteria:-

Masters degree in the relevant discipline with a good academic record or equivalent with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade and having a valid UGC/CSIR NET in the relevant area.
